11 Sep 2006 – Arizona Volunteer Minister Takes Time Out to Help

While Volunteer Ministers are renowned for their compassion in the wake of disaster – their work at Ground Zero, in Southeast Asian after the tsunami and in Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina – there is another side to the story. The little disasters.

While an Arizona Scientologist was taking a walk along one of the area’s many mesas through a Hopi reservation, she noticed that a fellow traveler was upset. Questioning him she found he was having a hard time, made worse by pain from a strained neck.

As a Scientology Volunteer Minister she knew there was something she could do to help. So she stopped and gave him a Scientology assist. And he immediately felt much better.

Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard, and are described fully in the Scientology Handbook which is available online. Assists operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing. Assists are used to alleviate stress and to orient a confused or distraught individual to the present environment.

If you would like to learn how to help another with Scientology assists, visit the Scientology Handbook web site, www.scientologyhandbook.org.
